Carl Sturm, owner and operator of Durango Decks, Inc. has over 20 years of carpentry and construction management experience. In addition, Carl is a magna cum laude graduate of Temple University where he earned a B.S. in Engineering. Carl recently completed a course and earned his certificate as a Certified Home Inspector. Carl has a huge variety of carpentry experience having built everything from custom decks, several homes, and even a helicopter landing pad! Carl and his family relocated their Denver-based deck business to Durango in 2002. In his spare time, he enjoys snowboarding and fishing.

Katie Sturm is the business manager for Durango Decks. She performs all of the finance and adverstising functions for the business. Katie is a graduate of Virginia Tech with a B.S. and M.S. in engineering. Katie is also mom to 4 kids: Madeline – age 6, Lily – age 4, Sam – age 2, and Chloe - age 10 months. In her spare time Katie enjoys snowboarding, mountain biking and running.
